Emergency Preparedness Training – Before, During and After
There are many reasons why maritime officers do what they do when they engage in planned behaviours:
Based on the books “The Bridge Emergency Preparedness Manual – An Operational Leadership Perspective” and “The Engine Room Emergency Preparedness Manual – An Operational Leadership Perspective” by Ivan Doulgerof and Frank Lamberg Nielsen, SIMAC offers unique training in handling of critical incidents on board vessels where both Human Factors and Technical Factors are at play.
Through the training, participants increase their knowledge, skills, coping strategies and confidence regarding the following scenarios:
· Collision (Navigators).
· Grounding (Navigators).
· Fire in the Cargo (Navigators).
· Fire in the Engine Room (Engineers).
· Blackout (Engineers).
· Flooding (Engineers).
Participants will make use of their own company-specific procedures. At the end of the training, participants can return to their companies with lessons learned points of attention, which can be used to modify existing procedures.
