Formål og indhold

Kurset introducerer dig til sejlads i isfyldt farvand og opdateres løbende i henhold til de nyeste nationale og internationale krav.

Emner der dækkes

• Is: Definitioner, dannelse, nedbrydning og isinformationer

• Sejlads i is: Både som enkeltskib og med isbryderassistance

• Winterization: Forberedelse af skib og besætning til sejlads i koldt klima

• Isklasser: Krav til skibe og belastning af skibsskrog

• Miljøbeskyttelse: Hensyn og krav i polare og kolde farvande

Tekniske krav

For at sikre den bedste undervisningsoplevelse stilles følgende krav til udstyr:

• Computer eller tablet med minimum 12” skærm

• To skærme anbefales – fx computer og tablet/telefon – så du kan arbejde og kommunikere samtidig

• Tastatur og mus

• Webkamera, højtaler og mikrofon (obligatorisk under hele kurset)

• Høretelefoner med indbygget mikrofon anbefales for bedst mulig lydkvalitet

• Opdateret operativsystem og browser (uanset om du bruger Windows, macOS, Firefox, Safari mv.)

• Stabil bredbåndsforbindelse

Purpose and Content

This course provides an introduction to navigation in ice-covered waters and is continuously updated to meet the latest national and international requirements.

Topics Covered

• Ice: Definitions, formation, decay, and ice information

• Ice Navigation: Both as a single vessel and with icebreaker assistance

• Winterization: Preparation of vessel and crew for operations in cold climates

• Ice Classes: Requirements for vessels and hull stress considerations

• Environmental Protection: Considerations and regulations for polar and cold regions

Technical Requirements

To ensure the best possible learning experience, the following equipment is required:

• A computer or tablet with a minimum 12” screen

• Two screens are recommended – e.g., a computer and a tablet/phone – to allow simultaneous reading and communication

• Keyboard and mouse

• Webcam, speakers, and microphone (mandatory throughout the course)

• Headset with built-in microphone is recommended for optimal sound quality

• Updated operating system and browser (regardless of whether you use Windows, macOS, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

• Stable broadband internet connection
