Duration: 1 day (1 day of preparation and assignment completion prior to the course)

Purpose and Course Content:

The course § 16 Occupational Health and Safety Course for the Safety Group ensures that members of the safety group have the required occupational health and safety training, as specified by the Danish Maritime Authority’s requirements for safety work on merchant vessels.

After completing the course, participants will understand the practical role of being a member of the safety group. They will also know how, in cooperation with others, to promote a safe and healthy working environment on board merchant ships.

There will be preparation before the course as well as assignments that must be submitted before the course begins (approx. 1 day of work).

The course is conducted in English, and the materials are in English.

Admission Requirements / Target Group:

The course is aimed at members of the safety group on merchant vessels sailing under the Danish flag.

Remarks / Notes:

English-language teaching materials are used in the course.

The courses fulfil the training requirements in accordance with the Danish Maritime Authority’s Executive Order no. 846 of 25/06/2018:
Executive Order on Safety Work on Merchant Ships (Occupational Health and Safety on Ships).
